Mentoring Children of Prisoners/ Training of Trainers
The Mentoring Children of Prisoners Curriculum is designed to provide agency trainers/staff with a variety of tools for training mentors to have the kind of meaningful relationships that can contribute to the coping process for children of the incarcerated and their families. The goal of the training is to build a base of understanding and awareness that includes information about the impact of parental incarceration on child development, family dynamics and parent-child relationships. It also includes strategies for building trusting relationships with the children, connecting with the caregivers and including the incarcerated parent.
Duration: 14 hours of training delivered in 2 days
Cost: $3000.00 plus expenses and includes a master copy of the Mentoring Children of Prisoners Curriculum

Past Training-by-Telephone CD’s
NRCCFI at FCN offers a series of trainings-by-telephone conference calls. Presentations are interactive and include a variety of experts on the topic, including those impacted by incarceration such as older children, caregivers or formerly incarcerated parents. Each training is recorded and CDs and are 90 minutes long. Agencies attending the training receive a special rate. CDs include the Training materials that were used for the training.
